REENACTMENT A Group Exhibition On The Politics Of Historical Reenactment In Contemporary Art Comes to BRIC

BRIC presents Reenactment, a group exhibition examining and agitating the aesthetics and politics of historical reenactment in contemporary art (January 18-February 25). In traditional reenactments, events like the American Revolution and Civil War are embodied by amateur performers using storytelling and props, all too often approaching history as unchangeable and absolute.

STAR WARS' Adam Driver to Return to Broadway in BURN THIS Revival

Producer David Binder (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Of Mice and Men) announces today that three-time Emmy Award nominee Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Girls ) will return to Broadway in the first revival of Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS, directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening) in 2019 at a Broadway theater to be announced.

The Keegan Theatre presents the Washington DC premiere of Sarah Treem's When We Were Young and Unafraid, opening on June 17, 2017. Directed by Marie Sproul, When We Were Young and Unafraid stars Keegan founding company member Sheri S. Herren as Agnes, the role originated by Cherry Jones on Broadway. Herren is joined by Kaylynn Creighton, Jenna Berk, Nora Achrati, and Theo Hadjimichael. The press opening is on Tuesday, June 20, at 8:00 pm.

Peter Shaffer Expert to Speak at LETTICE AND LOVAGE Sunday Symposium at WCP

Alan Pally, an authority on Tony and Academy Award-winning British playwright Peter Shaffer ("Amadeus," "Equus"), will be guest speaker at the Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following the Sunday, June 4, 3 p.m. matinee performance of Shaffer's comedy "Lettice and Lovage."

The 35th Anniversary Elliot Norton Awards

Awards were presented to more than two dozen outstanding actors, directors, designers and ensembles on May 15 by The Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA), at the 35th Anniversary Elliot Norton Awards ceremony, held at Huntington Theatre Company's BU Theatre.
