Tennessee Williams Festival Announces Annual Dinner in Provincetown

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival announces today that its Annual Dinner will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017. The gala will be held at Town Hall in Provincetown to support the organization's 12th-annual Festival, which will celebrate Tennessee Williams and William Shakespeare when performances around the world come to Provincetown from Sept. 21-24, 2017.

Beginning this Sunday, January 22nd, Pinkham joins PBS's Civil War medical drama, MERCY STREET, as Major Clayton McBurney III, the new head of the hospital at Mansion House.

EVITA, GOOD MONSTERS Claim Top Honors at Midwinter's First Night

Studio Tenn and Tennessee Performing Arts Center's joint venture to produce Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita in Nashville resulted in the production claiming the top prize as "Outstanding Musical of The Year" at Sunday's Midwinter's First Night event at The Larry Keeton Theatre. Nashville Repertory Theatre's production of Nate Eppler's original play Good Monsters took the title of "Outstanding Play of The Year" in the annual ceremony that dates back to its origins in 1989.

Voices Carry: A Celebration of Irish Women Writing at Irish Arts Center 12/6

Irish Arts Center, which projects a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, is pleased to present Voices Carry: A Celebration of Women Writing, December 6. Organized by author and playwright Honor Molloy and directed by Kira Simring, the event features Ms. Molloy and actors Gina Costigan, Angel Desai and Orlagh Cassidy in dramatic readings of 20th Century works spanning a variety of forms, including memoir, novels, poetry, drama, and radio. Treem's play When We Were Young and Unafraid receives its Rhode Island premiere when staged by the Community College of Rhode Island Players.

UNCLE PHILLIP'S COAT Stars Gene Weygandt at Greenhouse Theater Center

The Chicago Premiere of playwright Matty Selman's "Uncle Philip's Coat" will run at the Greenhouse Theater Center (2257 N. Lincoln Ave) Nov. 27 - Dec. 31. Directed by Elizabeth Margoliusand starring Gene Weygandt (best known as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in "Wicked" in Chicago and on Broadway), "Uncle Philip's Coat" follows Matty on his humorous and heartfelt journey of personal discovery, sparked by his inheritance of a tattered coat from his eccentric Russian-Jewish immigrant uncle Philip.

SDC Foundation's New Mason-Wilson Award Supports New York Collaborations

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that today, November 15, former SDC President and 2016 recipient of the Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement Marshall W.
