Following a delay lasting more than a year, Dirt Dogs Theatre Co. has announced its return to live theatrical performances with their Season 6 lineup for 2021-2022. The season opens in October with a tale of strength, bravery, and beheadings in Lauren Gunderson’s gritty comedy, The Revolutionists

THE REVOLUTIONISTS by Lauren Gunderson is set in the Paris of 1793 but even from the first glimpse of this production, you will notice a direct connection between that time period and our own.

Starting off the new year, ArtsWest will stage the THE REVOLUTIONISTS, by Lauren Gunderson- a fearless comedy about a sisterhood of heroes, re-writing their stories amidst the French Revolution. Performances will run January 16, Thursday through Sunday, until February 9.                                                                        

Four fierce women lose their heads in Lauren Gunderson's irreverent, girl-powered comedy, The Revolutionists, set during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. Performances of The Revolutionists will be held at 7:00 p.m. on December 13 and 14 and at 2:00 p.m. on December 14 and 15, 2019, in the Black Box Theatre at Firestone CLC. General admission tickets to The Revolutionists are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. All tickets are available online and at the door on the night of performance.

The Queen of France, an assassin, and a freed slave woman run into each other at an artist's loft in 1790s Paris. 'The Revolutionists' is a comedy about the serious subject of female subjugation through the centuries.

The French Revolution and comedy don't typically go together, but Lauren Gunderson upends many conventions in THE REVOLUTIONISTS, a fast-paced, feminist comedy set during France's 1793 Reign of Terror, now playing at ARTISTS REP.

Artistic Director Mathew Wright today announced AGENTS OF CHANGE, ArtsWest's 2019-20 Season, with six productions - featuring plays by Tony and Nobel Prize-winning playwrights, a boldly reimagined classic, and a world premiere from local luminary Sara Porkalob - all centered on revolutions, and the people who create, fuel and represent them.

"This may be the first time in our 33 years," stated Human Race Artistic Director and Founding Member Kevin Moore, "that we selected a season theme before we selected our shows." And for good reason. The 2019-20 Human Race Theatre season at the Loft Theatre coincides with the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the first step in all women having the right to vote and the catalyst for our movements for Equality.
