Housed on the campus of Shepherd University, CATF has earned a reputation as one of the country's top festivals for new plays. Producing Director Ed Herendeen, who founded the professional theater and lead the organization to its well-respected status, announced his retirement effective this December.

Pickering, is a British, actress and writer. She began writing for theatre in 2018, at Primitive Grace Theatre Ensemble, with artistic directors Paul Calderon and David Zayas, also co-founding members of New York LAByrinth Theatre. In 2020, Pickering was accepted as a member of The League of Professional Theatre Women, as well as The International Centre of Female Playwrights.

Teatro Paraguas will present a video performance of The Book of Magdalene, a play by Caridad Svich for two in-person screenings at Teatro Paraguas. The play, filmed in Teatro Paraguas in June and directed by Juliet Salazar, features Alix Hudson as Magdalene, a young woman in a twilight— possibly apocalyptic— world.
