For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow Is Enuf by Ntozake Shange will be presented by The Chocolate Box Theater Company in partnership with Planet Ant Theatre.

Theatre NOVA will present the 2025 Michigan Playwrights Festival September 11–14, featuring new plays by Joseph Zettelmaier, Jennifer Lane, Jill Halpern, Andrew Morton, and Sarah Elisabeth Brown. Tickets are $10 per reading or $30 for a Festival Pass.

Matrix Theatre Company will present Grounded, a powerful one-woman show written by George Brant, starring CJ Williams and directed by Emily Lange. This production features an all-women creative team and will be performed at Matrix Theatre Company.

Dontell Jones III wakes from a dream about an ancestor lost in the middle passage.  He decides he must learn more, and sets off on a fantastical journey to meet his ancestor and learn from his past.  In Dontrell, Who Kissed The Sea by Nathan Alan Davis, playing now through June 9th at Open Book Theatre in Trenton, the sea beckons, and we must follow.

Detroit local playwright Sean Paraventi will bring his latest comedy, Material Advantage, to the Matrix Theatre in March. The play is all about family – although the family at its center is anything but traditional.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2016-2017 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 18, to patrons and industry artists.

Chosen from last year's PANNDORA'S BOX festival of new works, SWEET TEXAS RECKONING is the story of Ellie Wolcott, a Southern Baptist woman fearing a tepid and lonely old age, who attempts to reunite her daughter, Kate, with long time paramour Alan John in order to salvage her remaining years with some semblance of dignity. When Kate shows up with an unexpected guest, Ellie is forced to confront many demons, including her ideas about race, biology, bigotry, and sexuality.
