SOMEBODY TO LOVE: A NEW MUSICAL has been extended at Rubicon Theatre Company. The world premiere features a score of 1970s rock hits. Performances continue through April.

Rubicon Theatre Company has revealed cast and creative team of the World Premiere of Somebody to Love: A New Musical that will play the Karyn Jackson Theater in Ventura, California.

I spoke with Jeff Liu about his journey directing Paranormal Inside after The Brothers Paranormal, the difference between the two scripts and the characters’ friendship, his experience working with its original cast members, and any updates on what a spectacular boo-fest the production promises to be.

JoBeth Williams (“Poltergeist,” “The Big Chill”) and Peter Strauss (“Rich Man, Poor Man,” “The Jericho Mile”) star in the romantic Love Among the Ruins, written by James G. Hirsch and Robert A. Papazian, from a film script by James Costigan. Love Among the Ruins is a Papazian Hirsch presentation  and is directed by Michael Arabian.

On Saturday, January 21, 2023 during OC Theatre Guild’s membership meeting, the nominees for the second annual OCTG Theatre Awards were officially announced to the public. The awards ceremony, in which the winners will be revealed, has been scheduled for the evening of Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.

East West Players will present The Brothers Paranormal. Written by East West Players multi-produced playwright Prince Gomolvilas and directed by Jeff Liu, The Brothers Paranormal performs November 17 through December 11, 2022 with opening night on Sunday, November 20.
