Drayton Entertainment announces casting for Rocky: The Musical. This adrenaline-fueled musical based on Sylvester Stallone's Academy© Award-winning film will launch the 2019 Season at the Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge. The production will run for four weeks from March 6 to March 31.
Sierra Repertory Theatre is delighted to celebrate 40 years of bringing the best talent from around the country to Sonora with the legendary and iconic Broadway musical, A Chorus Line, starring Russell Garrett (AEA) as Zach and Adrienne Hampton as Cassie. A Chorus Line begins performances on February 10th and runs through Sunday March 24th. Garrett, who many SRT patrons will remember as Harry Bright in Mamma Mia!, or as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, will be pulling triple-duty in this production. Not only will he play the role of Zach, but Garrett will recreate Michael Bennett's original staging and choreography for SRT audiences.

Adam Parrish's play Fusion is currently running at the Actors Theatre Workshop, bringing the story of one couple's struggle to stay together to the New York stage. While it has some effective elements, Fusion seems to make a caricature of relationships rather than delving deep to explore intimacy between two people.

BAHR Productions, the Hollywood-based Film, Television, and Digital production company behind the soon to open Off-Off Broadway play debut of BEFORE WE'RE GONE, by Jerry Small, has announced they intend to take their new play to Off- Broadway, with an eye on Broadway following the one-month run at the historic 13th Street Repertory Theatre, beginning July 5th, 2018. The theater, one of the longest operating theatrical venues in New York City, has seen a recent resurrection of sorts with a stronger line-up of productions in the last year, including several AEA-approved productions, is now the beneficiary of a newly reconstructed stage thanks to a major donation by Bahr Productions.
It's been described by The New York Times as the 'Little Theatre That Could,' and with its charm and historic aura, as well as its very visible street level location, the 13th Street Repertory Theatre was chosen by BAHR Productions, a Hollywood-based Film production company, as the launching pad for a new project that looks to be headed Off-Broadway, and then a very much anticipated Broadway run. Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, will present the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin' beginning this Sunday, June 17th through July 1st. The show features the music of acclaimed American Jazz pianist, singer, and composer Thomas Wright "Fats" Waller and contains such classic songs as "Honeysuckle Rose," "The Joint is Jumpin'," "Keepin' Out of Mischief Now," "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," and "I Can't Give You Anything But Love," plus 25 other toe-tapping songs of the 1920s and 30s. Aint' Misbehavin' won the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 1988 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as a 1982 Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical or Variety Program. This is the first time this award-winning musical has ever been presented at Totem Pole Playhouse. Ain't Misbehavin' features a cast of five vocalists with a live jazz band on stage throughout the two-hour show.
