LA Writers Center presents a free online reading of 'The Voices of Afghanistan' by Susan Rome, Amy Raasch, Che'Rae Adams, Caitlin Kennedy Mayernik, and Brandon Jones which will live stream on the global, commons-based, peer-produced HowlRound TV network at Howlround.tv beginning Friday October 22.

The venue will reopen the five screen movie theatre on July 22, 2021 with preview pricing for all showtimes for a limited time to welcome movie-goers back to the big screen. 

Carolyn Dorfman Dance will appear in a virtual gala performance and benefit on Saturday, April 24 presented by SOPAC. The evening, entitled 'Thrive,' will feature three works by the 10-member Company plus interview footage of Artistic Director and Choreographer Carolyn Dorfman speaking with dance writer and critic Robert Johnson.

Over the past two months, two choreographers and 15 dancers have reached across the Atlantic Ocean to create a short work, 'Alone/Together,' which will be premiered on July 15, via Facebook Premiere at 9:00 DST or 21:00 CEST and then will be available on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube using @cdorfmandance and on Vimeo.

After Sound Theatre's four-time Gregory nominated work in 2019 (including Theatre of the Year), Associate Artistic Director Jay O'Leary will kick off Sound Theatre's 2020 season with the world premiere of REPARATIONS by Darren Canady in co-production with LANGSTON HUGHES PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE. Examining the secrets and traumas we carry in our bloodlines, playwright Darren Canady urges us to inch closer and closer to decolonizing and deconstructing the dominant narrative.

10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, will make its dèbut with Public Works' Musical Adaptation of HERCULES at NYC's time-honored summer performing arts space, the Delacorte Theater, as cameo artists for this new production. Performance time is 8:00 pm. There are two ways to access free tickets: through an advance digital lottery and entering an in-person standby lottery.
