Sound Theatre To Premiere REPARATIONS In Historic Langston Hughes Building

Examining the secrets and traumas we carry in our bloodlines, playwright Darren Canady urges us to inch closer and closer to decolonizing and deconstructing the dominant narrative.

10 Hairy Legs Dèbuts As Cameo Artists For Public Works' Musical Adaptation Of HERCULES

10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, will make its dèbut with Public Works' Musical Adaptation of HERCULES at NYC's time-honored summer performing arts space, the Delacorte Theater, as cameo artists for this new production. Performance time is 8:00 pm. There are two ways to access free tickets: through an advance digital lottery and entering an in-person standby lottery. Carolyn Dorfman Dance, a premiere modern dance company based in New Jersey and New York City, will celebrate a remarkable 36 years of bold and powerful dancing making and performance with their 2018-19 Season. The highlights this year include a performance at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City in November, an appearance at the Dance Union Festival in Rahway in early February, and the company's annual appearance at NJPAC in April.

Legends in Concert is celebrating 35 years as the longest-running show in Las Vegas with an incomparable cast of music legends.  The acclaimed production, featuring a live band and dancers, will bring audiences to their feet with performances paying tribute to Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and, for the first time ever on the Legends stage, Jon Bon Jovi and Bob Marley at Flamingo Las Vegas July 1 through September 9, 2018. (Elvis Presley runs through July 19 and Johnny Cash runs from July 21 through September 9, 2018.)

Danielle Brooks, Tony Award nominee from The Color Purple and co-star of the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," will perform in a one-night only reading of James Baldwin's The Amen Corner this Mondayevening, November 28 at 7 pm as part of Classic Stage Company's annual First Look Festival. Directed by Liesl Tommy, the reading of The Amen Corner will also feature Adeola Role, Mirirai Sithole, Phumzile Sithole, Christina Redd, Brandon Jones, Curtiss Cook Jr, Kevin Mambo, Cristina Pitter and Folami Williams.

Inspired by true events, PARTHENOGENESIS is the story of three generations of women who, by choice or circumstance, all approach motherhood differently. It starts on the frozen water of Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, Massachusetts where Theresa (Kathryn Neville Browne), as a 4-year-old child, is abandoned by her father. Tonight, her father wishes to return to her life, to tell her about why he left.
