On October 8th, the Laurie Beechman Theatre presented a concert production of Bobby Cronin’s award-winning musical DAYBREAK.

Casting is set for the concert adaptation of the 2011 award winning musical, DAYBREAK. The show, inspired by real life events tells the story of two couples in two different time periods, both connected by The Golden Gate Bridge, a wonder of the modern world and notorious suicide destination.

Waiting In The Wings: The Musical was an multi-award winning film that played in festivals throughout the world, including in Africa, Canada, Australia, and Germany.  The film included many film icons, including Shirley Jones, Lee Meriwether, Sally Struthers, and Christopher Atkins.  

 In the first-ever play commissioned by the Alabama Center for the Arts, acclaimed NYC playwright, Crystal Skillman explores the German Rocket Team that was instrumental in the development of the US Space Program turning the small farming community of Huntsville, Alabama into 'Rocket City, USA'.

Rain and Zoe Save the World, written by Crystal Skillman with original music by Bobby Cronin, has attached Jared Mezzocchi as director, who will lead a developmental workshop at the University of Maryland beginning March 16, culminating in an industry presentation on March 26.

Out of 163 submissions, the San Diego State University New Musical Initiative has chosen In a Sunshine State as this year's selection. Writers T.C. Lind, Derek Gregor, and Phoebe Kreutz will join with director Stephen Brotebeck, music director Robert Meffe and the SDSU MFA Musical Theatre cohort for a two-year development process and world premiere in the spring of 2024.

The Playthings Theatre, an LGBTQ+ Theatre Company in New York City, will be performing its gala concert PlayFresh on Tuesday, May 31st at 7:00pm at The Irish Repertory Theatre. PlayFresh is an evening of new LGBTQ+ music performed by the community's finest performers. Playthings will be honoring Paul Rudnick with The P.R.I.D.E. Performing Arts Award for his contribution to theatre and the LGBTQ+ community.
