BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that lyricist Herbert Kretzmer has died at age 95. Kretzmer is best known for writing the lyrics to the English musical adaptation of Les Miserables.

According to the annual school play survey conducted by the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), The Addams Family, Clue, and Check Please received top billing for the most produced musical, full-length play, and short play, respectively, during the 2019-20 school year, which was cut short by the closures required by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The opening night of the Russian production of CHESS is to take place in Moscow's MDM Theatre a?' home of Broadway Moscow Theatre Company on October 17, 2020. It will become the first and only large-scale musical premiere in Russia this Fall, after the restrictions on presentation of theatrical productions have been lifted by the authorities.

Mamma Mia! at The Anthem DC will not run June 25 - July 5, 2020 as previously scheduled. Signature Theatre has worked with their sponsors Amazon and Max Productions and their partners at The Anthem and have announced that they have been able to reschedule the performances to next summer, June 24 - July 3, 2021.
