Second Stage Theater has announced two new productions for its upcoming 2022-23 Season. Tony Award-nominee Bess Wohl will return to the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street) this Fall with the New York premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED. Spring 2023 will see the Broadway premiere of Larissa FastHorse's THE THANKSGIVING PLAY,

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) announced the celebration of its 70th anniversary. Officially recognized on May 29th, the date former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared “Music Theatre International Day” in 2012, MTI is celebrating this milestone throughout the next year by showcasing the incredible talents of theatrical organizations around the world.

Dear Evan Hansen will return to The Buell Theatre for one week only, May 31- June 5. Denver launched the national tour in 2018. In advance of the start of performances, the production announced today that it will host a digital ticket lottery offering fans the chance to purchase a limited number of $25 tickets available per performance.

Dear Evan Hansen has been a long-awaited show for this reviewer and it did not disappoint. The show was inspired by the true story of Benj Pasek, the show's lyricist, who, after a high school classmate died of a drug overdose, witnessed classmates tell false stories of being part of the deceased student's life.

Orlando Repertory Theatre will join in partnership with TheaterWorksUSA bringing three productions to Orlando REP stages during 2022-2023.  After a successful presentation of TheaterWorksUSA's The Pout-Pout Fish earlier this year, a full season partnership brings Dog Man: The Musical, Click, Clack, Moo, and The Lightning Thief: Theater for Young Audiences Edition to Orlando family audiences. Tonight, May 3, Talia Simone Robinson will become the first Black actor to play Zoe Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway full-time. Previously Zoe/Alana understudy, Robinson succeeds Gabriella Carruba, who played the role until May 1.

In celebration of her soon to be released album Ann Kittredge:reIMAGINE(Jazzheads, Inc./King Kozmo Music), a specially curated collection of songs uniquely re-imagined, Ms. Kittredge, will appear at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42nd Street – between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm.

As with any massively popular production, you have to wonder if the hype matches the reality. In the case of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, the reality more than exceeds the expectations. This production is full of not only exceptional musical moments but also an enthralling story. It holds you captivated from beginning to end and leaves you with a lingering sense that you just experienced something extraordinary and important.

Broadway Across America has announce the 2022-2023 Broadway at the Eccles season, bringing the best of Broadway to Salt Lake City. The season begins with two weeks of the smash Broadway hit Moulin Rouge! The Musical, winner of 10 Tony Awards.
