Keala Settle performed the original song 'This Is Me' from the upcoming film The Greatest Showman, which features an original score by Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land), on the Graham Norton Show this week. “The Greatest Showman – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” (available now via Atlantic Records) continues to be a triumph, receiving an RIAA Gold certification and marking the first soundtrack to score four weeks of 100,000-plus units on the Billboard 200 chart since it's transition in December 2014. After spending a three consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Albums chart (the first soundtrack to top the chart for three consecutive weeks sinceFrozen in 2014), the album broke Suicide Squad: The Album's record (33 million) twice-over for all-time top streaming weeks for a soundtrack with 39.6 million streams (up from 37.4 million the week prior). The album has reached #1 on iTunes in 75 countries, in addition to charting at #1 in Ireland, #1 for five consecutive weeks in Australia and #1 for 4 consecutive weeks the UK.

In Toho Stage's return engagement of Dogfight patrons may recognize several company members. All but three actors were part of the Japanese premiere in 2015 at Theater Crea in Chiyoda. Based on the 1991 Warner Brothers film written by Bob Comfort, the musical stays faithful to the screenplay. This current revival in three cities- Osaka, Tokyo, and Nagoya­- features the all-Japanese cast in a distinctly American story set in the backdrop of the Vietnam War.

Last night, Broadway's new Evan Hansen, Taylor Trensch, officially began his performances in the hit musical Dear Evan Hansen! BroadwayWorld attended the big night, and you can check out photos from Trensch's first bows below!

Taylor Trensch, who made a slightly early arrival at the Music Box stage last week, officially takes over in the Tony-winning hit today, Tuesday, February 6, replacing Noah Galvin in the title role. The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce the Broadway musical, Hamilton will play its premiere Tampa engagement, Feb. 12-March 10, 2019, and anchor the 2018-2019 Bank of America Broadway at The Straz season. The Broadway series is also headlined by the 2017 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Dear Evan Hansen.

Noah Galvin plays his final performance in the title role in Dear Evan Hansen tonight, February 4. The Real O'Neals alum made his Broadway debut with this role on November 21, 2017. He was the first actor to take on the role after Ben Platt left the show.

Dear Evan Hansen's Will Roland will premiere a never before heard Dear Evan Hansen song at 54 Celebrates The Music Box Theater at Feinstein's/54 Below on Monday, February 19th, 2018. Mr. Roland will be appearing in the 9:30pm concert only.

This past fall, Tony/Oscar/Grammy award-winning writers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul helped forty-five students from a Bed Stuy public middle school in Brooklyn, NY learn about musical theatre through their renowned Broadway show, Dear Evan Hansen, through ASCAP's Children Will Listen program. 'My students and I cannot thank The ASCAP Foundation enough for our experience seeing Dear Evan Hansen… Not only did the students learn to have empathy for one another through this story, but they saw themselves within the characters on stage, which provided the perfect gateway theatre experience… If not for this organization, many of these children may never have set foot in a Broadway theatre,' said Jennifer DeRosa, drama teacher, M.S. 57 in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, NY.  

He will be found! BroadwayWorld has a first look at Dear Evan Hansen's new Evan, Taylor Trensch, who made a surprise debut in Dear Evan Hansen last night. He'll perform as 'Evan Hansen' on 1/31 at 8 PM, 2/1 at 7 PM and 2/3 at 2 PM. Noah Galvin will perform all other shows this week. Noah's final performance is Sunday, 2/4 and Taylor's first 'official' performance is Tuesday, 2/6.

Today, the Recording Academy announced that Dear Evan Hansen has won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The original cast album for Dear Evan Hansen is produced by Alex Lacamoire, Stacey Mindich, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are the composers/lyricists. Ben Platt is the principal soloist.
