Words Fail As We Say Goodbye to Noah Galvin Who Plays His Final Performance in DEAR EVAN HANSEN Tonight

Dear Evan Hansen

Noah Galvin plays his final performance in the title role in Dear Evan Hansen tonight, February 4. The Real O'Neals alum made his Broadway debut with this role on November 21, 2017. He was the first actor to take on the role after Ben Platt left the show.

Taylor Trensch, who most recently played Barnaby Tucker in Hello, Dolly! opposite Bette Midler, will be taking over starting Tuesday, February 6. Trensch's other Broadway credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Matilda.

Get a first look at Trensch in the role here!

Trensch made his debut in the show earlier than expected, playing a few shows this past week, including 1/31 at 8 PM, 2/1 at 7 PM and 2/3 at 2 PM.

Laura Dreyfuss, 2017 Tony Award-winner Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, 2017 Tony Award nominee Mike Faist, Michael Park, and Will Roland have all extended their contracts and will remain in the hit musical through May 2018. Kristolyn Lloyd will remain with the show through February 2018.

The winner of six 2017 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen features a book by Tony Award-winner Steven Levenson, a score by Academy Award and Tony winning composers Benj Pasek & Justin Paul, and direction by 4-time Tony® Award nominee Michael Greif. The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Dear Evan Hansen, produced by Atlantic Records, was released in February 2017, making an extraordinary debut on the Billboard 200 and entering the chart at #8 - the highest charting debut position for an original cast album since 1961.

Dear Evan Hansen opened at the Music Box Theatre to rave reviews on December 4, 2016, where it's broken all box office records and has struck a chord with critics and audiences alike.

In addition to winning six Tony awards, Dear Evan Hansen has won numerous other awards, including the 2017 Drama League Award for Outstanding Musical Production and for the off-Broadway production, two Obie Awards, a Drama Desk Award, and two Outer Critics Circle Awards and two Helen Hayes Awards.

Review: DEAR EVAN HANSEN at National Arts Centre Photo
What did our critic think of DEAR EVAN HANSEN at National Arts Centre? The opening night performance of Dear Evan Hansen at the National Arts Centre lacked some of the buzz that was palpable at Hamilton a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps that was because of pent-up excitement for Hamilton following two years of pandemic-related delays or maybe it's because Hamilton is still widely considered one of the hottest shows around. Normally there would be a bigger gap between shows, but thanks to the pandemic, Broadway Across Canada's 2021-2022 season has been condensed into a shorter time frame (Aside: not that I'm complaining - the more shows, the better, if you ask me). The beautiful thing about Broadway shows is that no two shows are alike, and the audience can appreciate each on its own merit.
