Roundabout Theatre Company announced the third annual Leon Levy Roundabout Directors Group. This group adds to Roundabout’s myriad artistic and career mentorship programs, including the Roundabout Directing Fellowship, the Theatrical Workforce Development Program and Space Jam, a support initiative for playwrights.

The Vineyard has just announced its new season, which will include productions of Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Obie Award winner Tina Satter; and the Center Theatre Group, Goodman Theatre and Vineyard Theatre production of Dana H., by Obie Award winner Lucas Hnath and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters. American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) will present a filmed reading of Alice Childress's brilliant comedy/drama Trouble in Mind now through Sunday, April 4, 2021. Directed by Awoye Timpo, Trouble in Mind is part of the A.C.T. Out Loud series, which features a series of enduring play readings by some of the greatest minds of generations past.

The Lewis Center for the Arts' Program in Theater at Princeton University will present A Past Becomes a Heritage: The Negro Units of the Federal Theatre Project, an evening of play readings and a panel discussion in collaboration with New York City-based collective CLASSIX, on March 30 at 7:30 p.m.

New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month with an online readings series.

The Old Globe has announced the four-member cohort for the 2021 Classical Directing Fellowship, a program of the Karen and Stuart Tanz Fellowships at The Old Globe, led by the Globe’s Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, a leading Shakespearean teacher, author, and director. 

On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors.  The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

The three upcoming readings are: Alice Childress’s Trouble in Mind, directed by Awoye Timpo; George Bernard Shaw’s Arms and the Man, directed by 2020 SAG Award nominee, Obie Award winner, and Tony Award nominee Colman Domingo; and Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, directed by Dawn Monique Williams.

MCC Theater announced today The Things Are Against Us will be the next LiveLab in their one-act digital reading series. The Things Are Against Us will stream on MCC’s YouTube Channel on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6:30PM EST and tickets will include access to watch through February 27, 2021.
