Second Stage Theater will kick off its 44th Season with the New York Premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED, the new play from Tony Award-nominee BESS WOHL, directed by Tony Award-winner DAVID CROMER. The production will feature SAWYER BARTH and LILY McINERNY, both of whom will be making their off-Broadway stage debuts.

Written by Rita Kalnejais and directed by Jack Serio, This Beautiful Future is a story of young love set during World War II. The production, which was twice-extended at Theaterlab and marked the playwright's New York debut, was embraced by critics and audiences alike during its limited run in January 2022.

We're chatting with Noah Reid, who just wrapped up his performance in The Minute, which closed on Broadway on Sunday, July 24.  Noah told us all about his backstage rituals, what it's like performing on Broadway in the COVID era, and much more.

New Perspectives Theatre Company (NPTC) will present ENDGAME, their 14th Annual Women's Work Short Play Festival, running live Monday, August 8 through Saturday, August 13, 2022. The Festival performs in two programs on an alternating schedule of 4:00pm and 8:00pm, with a combined program on August 13th at 2pm and 5pm.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, in a new production by Ruth Stage, is currently in previews at The Theater at St. Clements with opening night set for July 24. Second Stage Theater has announced that Laura DiLorenzo, who was serving as the organization’s Director of Marketing & Communications, has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, in a new production by Ruth Stage, will play The Theater at St. Clements beginning previews July 15, and opening night is set for July 24. 

THE MINUTES by Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts, directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro will conclude its limited Broadway engagement on Sunday, July 24. To date, the production has raised nearly $130,000 from a portion of tickets sales to support global humanitarian organization Save the Children’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund.

Steppenwolf’s production of THE MINUTES on Broadway will continue to require audiences to wear masks through the final performance on Sunday, July 24.

The original scheduled run of this production, which had been announced for January, 2022, was postponed due to the ongoing health crisis.

Second Stage Theater has announced two new productions for its upcoming 2022-23 Season. Tony Award-nominee Bess Wohl will return to the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street) this Fall with the New York premiere of CAMP SIEGFRIED. Spring 2023 will see the Broadway premiere of Larissa FastHorse's THE THANKSGIVING PLAY,

On Monday, June 6th, Second Stage Theater will host the Fair Chance Job Fair. Fair Chance Hiring means that employers refrain from including questions about conviction history in the application process before a job offer is made.

As awards season continues forward, there is a strong sense of normalcy within the industry - however, the announcement last week from both the Broadway League and at least one regional arts organization that mask mandates will continue into the summer is a strong reminder that we aren’t yet back to normal.
