Photos: First Look Inside Rehearsal For Broadway-Bound 1776 at A.R.T.

The A.R.T./Roundabout Theatre Company revival of 1776 begins at A.R.T. on Tuesday, May 17 and plays through Sunday, July 24. Following its premiere at A.R.T., 1776 will begin performances in September 2022 at Roundabout’s American Airlines Theatre in New York City before embarking on a 16-city national tour in February 2023.

The Redhouse Arts Center opens its 2019-2020 season with none other than Jonathan Larson's Tony Award -winning musical RENT under the incredible direction of the Broadway-credited husband and wife team Hunter Foster and Jennifer Cody. Hunter Foster is the Redhouse Arts Center Artistic Director and this production will be hard to beat for the rest of the season thanks to the stellar cast, top-notch musical direction by Abel Searor, breathtaking set design by Carolyn Mraz, impressive choreography by Jennifer Cody, and, of course, the story that changed musical theatre history.

Queer Baby Jesus To Premiere In The Lounge At Dixon Place

Queer Baby Jesus (Book by Jacob Jarrett and Nina Roy, Music and Lyrics by Jacob Jarrett) tells the story of Jo (a non-binary trans-masculine Catholic) and Mara (a queer Atheist Jewish woman), a couple searching for an accepting faith community. Shortly after joining a Unitarian Universalist congregation, an Angel appears to Jo and tells them Mara is pregnant with the second coming of Jesus. Confused by the biological impossibility of her pregnancy, Mara takes twenty seven pregnancy tests, all confirming she is indeed with child. Together, Mara and Jo are forced to confront their faith, their new congregation, and what it means to start a family.
