The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today the winners of the 2019 NYMF Awards for Excellence, which were awarded on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Sony Hall

Ben Clark is still a largely unknown composer, unless you've heard his unforgettable music. A new voice in American musical theatre, for the past decade Clark has contributed music and lyrics for three musicals: The Circus in Winter, Skin and Bones, and the very recent Bruno and the Gospel of Infinity. Composing on guitar, drawing influence from artists like Jeff Buckley, Dave Matthews, and Martin Sexton, Clark's writing style is a story-driven blend of folk, Americana, and rock. A new voice with traditional roots needs a venue to match, and there is no better place to make his New York City debut than The Green Room 42.

Susanna Wolk (Choir Boy, Waitress, Finding Neverland) will be joining the team of  the world premiere production of LEAVING EDEN as the director.  Previously announced director James Monaghan will be departing the production to Asolo Repertory Theatre as their new Dramaturg/Literary Manager.

Tonya Farrens has been part of the entertainment industry for years, but when she experienced a devastating event, after her grief, she decided to help others using a different voice. The Bringing Happy Back Experience will raise awareness of suicide and prevention by uplifting the mood with its inaugural live and streaming show. The benefit production featuring several Vegas entertainers will be held at the Myron's Cabaret at The Smith Center For The Performing Arts on Jan. 31.

Upon entering the House of Blues for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, I was greeted by such an array in the audience; some were dressed casually, some were in costumes, while most of the audience were rockers. HEDWIG is not your average or your traditional musical.
