BBC One and FX are partnering on a new adaptation of the timeless classic, A Christmas Carol.

Artistic Director Tom Morris today announced the completion of the 2019 programme and reflected on the impact and legacy of Bristol Old Vic's Year of Change in 2018.

"The Favourite" was the favorite film of more than 2,500 users who voted for the 17th Annual Gold Derby Film Awards nominations. Disney announced today that Academy Award®-nominated and SAG® winner “Black Panther” will return to the big screen to celebrate Black History Month for a one-week engagement, February 1-7, at 250 participating AMC Theatres locations. To ensure that the movie is accessible to all, tickets are free for everyone, and there will be two showings per day at each participating theater.

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) 56th Annual ICG Publicists Awards Luncheon will take place Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Netflix has secured the rights to international bestselling author Blake Crouch's book “Recursion” for Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beer's Shondaland and Matt Reeves' 6th & Idaho for a feature film as well as a television universe. “Recursion” will be published by Crown on June 11, 2019.

Writer/Director Barnaby Blackburn's Wale tackles the issues of social injustice and racial discrimination. This award-winning psychological thriller has been selected for several Oscar and BAFTA qualifying film festivals since its completion earlier this year and took home the top prizes at BronzeLens and Dances with Films, qualifying the film for the 2019 Academy Awards. The film stars newcomer Raphel Famotibe and Game of Thrones star James Sives.

The Mercury Theatre Colchester today announces the world premiere of Nick Perry's Moll Flanders, adapted from the novel by Daniel Defoe. The production, directed by Ryan McBryde opens on 28 September at the Mercury, and runs until 13 October.

Black Panther, Ryan Coogler's groundbreaking superhero movie, has crossed the $700 million mark in North America, Disney and Marvel announced. This comes nearly six months after it first opened in theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
