JACQUELINE NOVAK: GET ON YOUR KNEES Announces Final Extension At The Lucille Lortel Theatre

Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees, written by and starring Jacqueline Novak, has extended its limited run to October 6th, due to overwhelming ticket sales and rave reviews. This will be the final extension and the show must close on that date. The show, 'a standup comedy set that inclines towards theater (New York Times),' plays the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Hudson and Bleecker Streets), having transferred from the Cherry Lane Theatre, where the whole run sold out. Jacqueline Novak: Get on Your Knees is presented by Natasha Lyonne, and executive produced by Mike Birbiglia. Mike Lavoie, Carlee Briglia and Abingdon Theatre Company are producers.

Fall Improv Classes Now Enrolling at Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, will offer an Intro to Improv workshop, and both Level 1 and Level 2 Improv Classes for adults and teens beginning this fall. 

Renée Elise Goldsberry To Perform With Cincinnati Pops

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Conductor John Morris Russell welcome Renée Elise Goldsberry, winner of the Best Featured Actress Tony Award for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in the smash hit musical, Hamilton. Making her Cincinnati Pops debut, Goldsberry will perform three concerts with the Pops on September 13, 14, and 15, opening the Pops' 2019-20 season at Music Hall. 

SHAME-FULL Continues At Upright Citizens Brigade

The two-woman sketch show 'Shame-Full' continues its successful run at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. This original comedy is written and performed by Kathleen Cameron & Tess Richie, and directed by Leslie Meisel.

The show, 'a standup comedy set that inclines towards theater (New York Times),' plays the Cherry Lane Theatre, (38 Commerce Street) through August 18 and then will move to the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Hudson and Bleecker Streets) beginning on August 28 for a run through September 21. Jacqueline Novak: Get on Your Knees is presented by Natasha Lyonne, and executive produced by Mike Birbiglia. Mike Lavoie, Carlee Briglia and Abingdon Theatre Company are producers.

Holland Taylor Joins Cast of BILL AND TED FACE THE MUSIC

Kristen Schaal and Holland Taylor have joined the cast of Bill & Ted Face The Music. Schaal will play Kelly, a messenger from the future. Taylor is set to take on the role of The Great Leader, the most powerful person in the universe - the center of which is San Dimas, California, 700 years in the future. They join previously announced cast including Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, William Sadler, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, ("Kid Cudi"), Anthony Carrigan, Beck Bennett, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Amy Stoch, Hal Landon Jr. and Jillian Bell.

The Cast Of THE PROM Will Perform at TrevorLIVE New York Gala; Full Lineup Announced

Today, The Trevor Project announced that GRAMMY-Award winning multi-platinum singer/songwriter Daya and the cast of the Broadway musical, The Prom, will perform at the organization's TrevorLIVE New York gala in New York City on Monday, June 17 at Cipriani Wall Street. The organization also announced that Queer Eye's Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness will present Cara Delevingne with the 2019 Hero Award, and actor Jonathan Tucker will present Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos with the Champions Award.

PACK ANIMALS Announced At The 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival

Inspired by co-creators Holly Brinkman and S.E. Grummett's experiences as an overachieving Cub Scout and a slacker Girl Guide, respectively, Pack Animals offers up a queer camp adventure through the untamed forest of gender roles, sexuality, friendship, and bushcraft. Interweaving musical and physical comedy, puppets, and searing cynicism, Scantily Glad Theatre presents another raunchy feminist comedy sure to make the audience laugh as much as it makes them squirm (Cult MTL).

Musco Center For The Arts Announces 2019-20 Season

The fourth Musco Center for the Arts season at Chapman University will run September 2019 through May 2020 with a packed schedule of artists and groups from the worlds of opera, dance, theatre, and classical music as well as Broadway, jazz, country, and American roots music. Among the special events will be several spectacular holiday celebrations, culturally specific performances and festivals, and a live orchestra accompaniment of Disney's Pixar movie music to screened excerpts from the studio's most popular films.

Long Wharf Theatre Presents Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company

The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company is headed to Long Wharf Theatre, for two nights only, June 7 and 8. Both performances are at 8 PM on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre. The tour features improv scenarios sparked by interviews from that evening's audience members. Each performance has never been seen and will never be seen again.

Isaac Mizrahi Returns To Café Carlyle For Three Special Performances With Ana Gasteyer, Andrew Rannells, and Justin Vivian Bond

Isaac Mizrahi returns to Cafe Carlyle for three special performances titled Isaac & on June 10, June 17, and June 24. Isaac's previous three residencies in the room were sellouts, receiving widespread critical acclaim. He'll be joined by his band of jazz musicians, led by Ben Waltzer, for an evening of eclectic tunes and charming storytelling. Each night a well-known friend will join him on stage for a few songs and banter. With a fresh stock of swag items to re-gift to audience members and a wealth of commentary on everything from prescription drugs to obsession with social media, audiences are sure to be delighted by this "founding father of Alt Cabaret," according to the New York Times.

Austin Pendleton And Barbara Bleier Return To Pangea With HOW ABOUT LOVE?

Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier return to Pangea on May 7, 14 and 21, at 7 PM, with How About Love?, a brand new show about everything you always wanted to know about falling in (and out of) love, but were afraid to ask! Bleier and Pendleton, along with Barbara Maier Gustern and Paul Greenwood, will sing love songs (solos, duets, trios and quartets) by such composers as Richard Rodgers, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Kurt Weil, Jonathan Larson, Stephen Sondheim, Peter Larson, George and Ira Gershwin, Francesca Blumenthal and Tom Toce, among others. Paul Greenwood is the Musical Director, and Barbara Maier Gustern directs.

Pen Parentis Literary Salons Presents Tenth Season Grand Finale

How do you celebrate creativity on a grand scale? The Triad Theater, Off-Broadway Theatre, presents Queen Diva in "Strength of a Woman: A Phyllis Hyman Tribute 70th Birthday Celebration" on Saturday, July 6, 2019. The 120 minute tribute celebration begins with Phyllis Hyman's Disco Hit produced by New York's Own James Mtume 'You Know How To Love Me,' to Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Ladies Medley-Sophisticated Ladies, A Train, It Don't Mean A Thing, In A Sentimental Mood" to her pivotal vocal performance in Brooklyn's own Spike Lee's "School Daze" singing "Be One"  to her recording career beginning with Veteran Producer Norman Connors singing "Betcha By Golly Wow" to  her favorite songs "What You Won't Do For Love," to "Old Friend" a song she would dedicate to her numerous dear friends who died of AIDS in the late 1980's and early 1990's.
