Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier Return to Pangea in June With Some Known and Unpublished Works

Austin Pendleton and Barbara Bleier are returning to PANGEA, New York's downtown supper club, with a reprise of their show, STARTING HERE- The Songs of Richard Maltby and David Shire. There are two performances scheduled: October 2nd and 9th. Pendleton has been friends with Maltby and Shire since they were all undergraduates at Yale in the 1960s, and had appeared in several of their student productions. The composers have been generous enough to offer some of their unpublished works from earlier and later dates to the duo, and Pendleton and Bleier are thrilled to be performing their work. Paul Greenwood is the Musical Director, and Barbara Maier Gustern directs.

Jocelyn Bioh's hit MCC production of SCHOOL GIRLS; OR, THE AFRICAN MEAN GIRLS PLAY lands in Los Angeles at the Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre running September 2 through September 30, before encoring back in New York City at the Lucille Lortel Theatre October 16 through November 25. We had the opportunity to chat with Mirirai Sithole, one of the original cast members who's making the trek between coasts.

Amanda McBroom Comes East In September To Broadway At Birdland

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is thrilled to announce that singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom will return to the historic club on September 10th 2018 with "My Favorite Things- Songs I've Longed to Sing.' The selections include words and music from the likes of Annie LaMott, Stephen Sondheim, Fran Landesman, Cole Porter, Jacques Brel, Michele Brourman, and, naturally, McBroom herself. The evening promises to be one to calm the jitters, raise the hackles, and hopefully heal the heart. Showtime is 7:30pm. The historic jazz venue Birdland, which has embraced the diversity of cabaret performing in recent years is located at 315 West 44TH ST. between 8th and 9th Avenues.

HOW DID THIS GET MADE? with Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas and June Diane Raphael is coming to Paramount Theatre in Denver today, August 25th at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Broadway's Renee Elise Goldsberry Will Perform At S.F.'s Marines' Memorial Theatre

UCB Theater Hell's Kitchen Extends Powerhouse Estrada Run Through August

The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Hell's Kitchen has extended dates through August for 'Branded Content Will Set You Free,' and 'The Scumbags of '77,' which were written and co-written by infamous UCB luminary Alex Estrada. UCB bigwig John Sartori shares a writing credit for 'Scumbags.'

Roger Bart, Ali Stroker & More Complete Cast of Hollywood Bowl's ANNIE

Casting is now complete for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie. The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.

Lyric's Uneven FREAKY FRIDAY Provides Some Family-Friendly Fun

No matter how large the cast, some shows really rest on the shoulders of just one or maybe two characters and the actors in those roles. They are called upon to carry the show and make it a success, or not, regardless of everything else happening around them. In Lyric Theatre's current production of Freaky Friday, two powerhouse performances are well worth the price of admission, even if the rest of the production is highly uneven and often just average.

BRANDED CONTENT WILL SET YOU FREE Continues Run At UCB Hell's Kitchen Theater

'Branded Content Will Set You Free,' a dystopian sketch revue running at the new Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre in Hell's Kitchen, has been extended through May 2018. The show, which takes place in a grimdark future where all content is branded, was featured in a UCB industry showcase in March 2015. 'Branded Content Will Set You Free' features appearances and performances by Joanna Hausmann (Netflix's Bill Nye Saves The World, Univision's Flama Digital Comedy Network) Gianmarco Soresi (TBS's The Last O.G, Caroline's Up And Coming Comics), Audrey Stanfield, John Sartori, Max Brand, Brittany MacDonald, and Lindsay-Elizabeth Hand. It was written by notorious UCB personality Alex Estrada and is directed by Ellena Chmielewski (Liminal Salon, Standards and Practices).

Headed to Easy Street! Ana Gasteyer and Megan Hilty Join Hollywood Bowl ANNIE

It has just been announced that stars Ana Gasteyer as ("Miss Hannigan') and Megan Hilty ("Lily St. Regis.") have joined the cast of the upcoming Hollywood Bowl production of ANNIE, which will take place Friday, July 27, at 8 pm, Saturday, July 28, at 8 pm, and Sunday, July 29, at 7:30 pm.
