Following its successful opening in London in 2018, Sally Cookson's Olivier Award-winning production of A Monster Calls comes to the Belgrade Theatre this spring, as part of its first ever UK tour.

Ammar Duffus's past work includes Twelfth Night at the National Theatre, Holes at Nottingham Playhouse, and Sally Cookson's take on Peter Pan at the Troubadour. Duffus now reunites with Cookson for the UK tour of A Monster Calls - her critically acclaimed stage version of Patrick Ness's novel, a hit at the Old Vic in 2018.

Full casting is today announced for the 2020 UK tour of A Monster Calls, which runs at the Belgrade Theatre from 3-7 March as part of its Spring Season 2020.

Seen in Europe for the first time at Jermyn Street Theatre, the piece is a play within a play complete with flashbacks and time travel. Albeit self-indulgent at times, Killebrew manages to keep the narrative interesting and fresh but falls short acting-wise. Directed by Stella Powell-Jones, it's well-executed but feels like it's holding its breath.

Following five-star reviews for Wonderland, Adam Penford's inaugural production as Artistic Director, he and Nottingham Playhouse confirm the full cast of a theatrical version of the multi-award-winning novel Holes by Louis Sachar.
