Manhattan Theatre Club’s world premiere of Prayer for the French Republic, written by Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, begins performances tonight. The production opens Tuesday, February 1 at New York City Center – Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

The performances of PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC scheduled for January 11th and 12th have been canceled to allow for additional technical rehearsals.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today that Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord by NYTW Usual Suspect Kristina Wong (Kristina Wong for Public Office) and directed by Obie Award winner and NYTW Usual Suspect Chay Yew (Oedipus El Rey) will be available for streaming from Wednesday December 1 through Tuesday December 14, 2021.

The Huntington announces the New England premiere of Teenage Dick by Mike Lew, a darkly comic re-telling of Shakespeare's Richard III set in the most treacherous of places -high school. Theatre for a New Audience opened their 2021-2022 season with the New York premiere of Will Eno's Gnit (October 30 - November 21, 2021), a reimagining of Peer Gynt directed by Eno's frequent collaborator Oliver Butler that had four preview performances at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center before being shuttered due to the pandemic.

Broadway Live Cinema Festival, the new film and live performance event honoring Broadway and movie musicals, has announced the lineup of artists set to perform live at the inaugural festival this summer at AMC Empire 25 Theater in Times Square (234 W 42nd St, NYC). 

In celebration of the highly-anticipated re-opening of Broadway theaters this fall, the Broadway Live Cinema Festival is launching as a four-week film and live performance event honoring Broadway and movie musicals. The inaugural festival runs from July 15th through August 8th at the AMC Empire 25 Theater in Times Square.

Signature Theatre will present The Watering Hole (June 22-July 25), an immersive theatrical installation conceived and created by Lynn Nottage and acclaimed writer, director, and curator Miranda Haymon, bringing together multidisciplinary artists of color in an expansive reimagining of theatrical space.
