Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director, Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) has announced that the entire original cast of Soho Rep.'s production of Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview, staged by Sarah Benson and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly, will return for the TFANA engagement from June 2-30, 2019, on the Samuel H. Scripps Mainstage at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, TFANA's state-of-the-art home in the Brooklyn Cultural District. The return engagement marks the first opportunity for New York audiences to experience this bold, innovative work since its sold-out, thrice-extended world premiere at Soho Rep. Fairview single tickets are on sale to the public today.

Boesman and Lena officially opened on Monday, February 26 in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The production is a limited engagement through March 17, 2019.

The Play Company (PlayCo; Founding Producer Kate Loewald, Managing Director Robert Bradshaw) announces a weekly Idea Lab series complementing their New York premiere production of Recent Alien Abductions, written and directed by Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas. Responding to the play's setting in Puerto Rico and themes of colonialism and asymmetrical power dynamics, PlayCo has partnered with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at New York Law School to present this iteration of the Idea Lab as a series of free, open-to-the-public teach-ins (tickets to performances not required for attendance). The sessions are designed to be accessible to anyone with a curiosity about current issues facing Puerto Rico, and to encourage group dialogue around each topic facilitated by leading thinkers and community activists. Today PlayCo also announces that Maria Cellario has stepped down from the production, and that OBIE-winning actress Mia Katigbak will assume the role of Olga, which she played to acclaim at the 2017 Humana Festival for New American Plays.

Through magnetic characterization and playful yet shattering storytelling, Recent Alien Abductions explores how families-and societies-are haunted by their pasts. Recent Alien Abductions was an acclaimed highlight of the 2017 Humana Festival for New American Plays, where it was hailed as a 'dark and unsettling…shape-shifter, a mystery to be unfurled, and ultimately a very human story' (WFPL News Louisville). Performances take place February 21-March 24 at Walkerspace, 46 Walker Street, New York.

And out of the 47,173 people in the United States who died by suicide in 2017 (according to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention), what, if anything, could've kept these beloved fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters from taking that leap or wanting to disappear? Depression, grief, suicide, and mental illness are just some of the themes Charly Simpson explores in her new play JUMP, which opened at PlayMakers Repertory Company last weekend. The opening is part of a New Play National Network rolling world premiere that includes Milagro and Confrontation Theatre (Oregon), Shrewd Productions (Texas), and Actor's Express (Georgia). However, this is the first time the play has been fully staged, and this production sets the bar high for future productions.
