The New York Chapter of the Educational Theatre Association is hosting the 7th annual New York Educational Theatre Festival on April 16th, 2016. Open to both high school and middle school students, the festival is a full day of theatre based workshops and presentations. Currently, the New York chapter awards $4,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors.

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade will present a Renegade Theatre presentation of A RENEGADE NIGHT OF ONE ACTS featuring plays by Vincent Pastore, Richard Vetere, and Pamela Scott. The show will run March 29-April 3 at The Kraine Theater.

'OMOTENASHI Journey' is a brand new musical-in-progress, presenting featured songs at the New York's Got Talent Finals at The Elektra Theater on Tuesday April 26th.

SONGBOOK is an album featuring ten live performances by Joseph Lorenzo Wise. It also features a bonus track 'Papaparazzi,' the new hit single featuring the Beethoven Fifth. The inspirational songs range from spirituals, to pop hits, to Sibelius. The CD also features one original song -- 'Dreams' -- written in New York City in the '80s by Joseph Lorenzo Wise.

San Francisco Playhouse's production of IDEATION, which had its world premiere at the Playhouse and won the 2014 prestigious William Glickman playwriting award, moves New York City, playing Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters as part of their 2015-16 5A series.

59E59 Theaters will wrap up the 2015/2016 5A Season with the NYC premiere of IDEATION, written by Aaron Loeb and directed by Josh Costello. Produced by San Francisco Playhouse, IDEATION begins performances on Saturday, March 5 through Sunday, April 17. Opening Night is Tuesday, March 15 at 7 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7 PM; Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM; and Sunday at 3 PM. Please note there is no performance on Saturday, March 6 at 2 PM.  Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Award-winning veteran director Jules Aaron has been putting his directorial stamp on musicals and plays for several decades.  Mr. Aaron takes time out of his busy schedule to talk with us about his current project, the west coast premiere of The Group Rep's production of THAT LOVIN' FEELIN' running December 11 through January 24, 2016 at the Lonny Chapman Theatre in North Hollywood, which already has some SOLD OUT performance dates.  He also gives us a glimpse into his background and the encouragement he received along the way.

Where are you from? I was born in the Isle of Man, which is an island in between England and Ireland. I've kind of lived in a couple of places in the UK, but I basically grew up in a place called Guernsey which is a Channel Island. It has a lot of history - being occupied by the Nazis during WWII.  It was a great place to grow up. It was great for me as a creative because it's a small island but has a large population. They really support creativity there. If you want to do it, there's some great venues you can explore. Were your parents supportive of you?

Greenway Arts Alliance continues their season of world premieres with FRONT DOOR OPEN, a drama written by veteran playwright Tom Baum, directed by acclaimed theater and television director Asaad Kelada. There will be two preview performances tonight and tomorrow, November 11 and 12 at 8:00 pm with opening night set for Friday, November 13 at 8:00 pm.
