Nominations for the 2019 Chita Rivera Awards were announced today. In keeping with the mission of the Chita Rivera Awards, nominators considered shows and films that opened during the 2018-2019 theater season.

On Saturday, March 30th the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition presented the 2019 Collaboration Awards at the SVA Theater (333 West 23rd St, New York, NY 10011).

The Women in the Arts & Media Coalition will present the 2019 Collaboration Awards. which recognize women who successfully collaborate to create new and influential work, at the SVA Theater (333 West 23rd St, New York, NY 10011) on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30pm. The 2019 Collaboration Awards Gala, which is being held on International SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now), will be hosted by SAG Award-winning actor and producer Alysia Reiner (Fig on Orange is the New Black on Netflix).

Awarded biennially, the Collaboration Awards encourage professional women in the arts and media from different disciplines to work collaboratively on the creation of new work. The award recognizes the best of these collaborations and goes to a winning project and its two creators. 2019 marks the sixth time the Collaboration Awards have been presented.

Barrow Street Theatricals announced today the rotating cast of guest actors through the middle of February for the American premiere of the Nassim Soleimanpour and Bush Theatre production of NASSIM by celebrated Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour (White Rabbit Red Rabbit), featuring direction by Omar Elerian. This weekend, human rights organization Amnesty International USA in partnership with live music events startup Sofar Sounds hosted a powerful evening of collective action along with an intimate concert experience featuring stripped down performances by singer/songwriter and activist Lauren Jauregui and Roc Nation recording artist Victory Boyd all in a surprise popup at General Assembly in the Flatiron neighborhood of New York City. Royal Family Productions (Chris Henry, Artistic Director), a Times Square based non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new original work, is proud to announce Women on Fire: Scorching the Dividing Lines. The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, announced the winners of its competition categories at the awards ceremony this evening, sponsored by Chloe Wine Collection, at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Top honors went to Diane for the Founders Award for Best U.S. Narrative Feature, Smuggling Hendrix for Best International Narrative Feature, and Island of the Hungry Ghosts for Best Documentary Feature. The Festival awarded $145,000 in cash prizes. Tribeca runs through April 29, 2018.
