On Sunday, May 4th at 5pm at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side, LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER: NYC, part of a 32-city series of readings nationwide in celebration of Mother's Day, will once again take center stage in the Big Apple. This third annual New York City production features prominent local writers and performers telling their own tales of motherhood in all of its complexity, diversity, and humor.
Food Bank For New York City - the city's major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs - raised more than $2 million last night at the organization's annual Can Do Awards Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street. Signature Theatre presents the New York premiere of Appropriate, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Liesl Tommy. Last night, celebrities joined with NARAL Pro-Choice America and the New York Abortion Access Fund for an online telethon to raise money to support Texas women in the face of legislation restricting their right to abortion care.
New York's television and theatrical celebrities will take their place behind the bar at the annual "Stockings with Care Celebrity Bartending Night" in New York City on Tuesday, November 19th at Hudson Station Bar and Grill (440 Ninth Avenue between 34th and 35th Streets) from 7pm to 11pm to raise money for the not-for-profit organization. Stockings with Care provides holiday gifts for children whose families live in homeless shelters or are in jeopardy of becoming homeless.

A Charity Case opened Off-Broadway at the Clurman Theatre and gives us an insightful look into the private lives of a 17-year old adopted daughter who is torn between her biological mother, adoptive mother, and finding her own identity somewhere in between.
