BroadwayWorld has learned that Tony Award winning actor Brent Carver has passed away at age 68. Born in 1951, the Canadian actor Brent Carver was a star of both stage and screen.

Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner has been tapped to star as matriarch Amanda Wingfield in the Actors Fund 'Friday Night Play Reading' series, created by Alison Tanney and Tim Realbuto.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop has officially won the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This year's finalists included: Will Arbery's Heroes of the Fourth Turning and David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori's Soft Power.

Today we rewind with LoveMusik, a musical which ran on Broadway for just over a month in 2007. LoveMusik is a musical written by Alfred Uhry, using a selection of music by Kurt Weill. The story explores the romance and lives of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya, based on Speak Low (When You Speak Love): The Letters of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya. Uhry and Prince worked on LoveMusik for four years to develop it into a stage work. The story spans over 25 years, from the first meeting of Lenya and Weill as struggling young artists, to their popularity in Europe and America, to Weill's death from a heart attack at age 50. The Broadway production ran at the Biltmore Theatre (now the Samuel J. Friedman), starring Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy.

Driving Miss Daisy, produced by the Big Easy Award-winning company See 'Em On Stage, opens on Friday, March 13th at The Fortress of Lushington (2215 Burgundy Street, New Orleans, 70117).

Winner of the 1997 Tony Award winner for Best Play as well as a Pulitzer Prize, Alfred Uhry's a?oeThe Last Night of Ballyhooa?? will open at 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening, March 14, at The White Theatre, located at The J, 5801 W. 115th St., in Overland Park. Additional evening performances are Thursday, March 19, and Saturday, March 21. Two matinee performances are Sundays, March 15 and 22 with a 2 p.m. curtain. The Third Avenue Playhouse, located in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay, announces its lineup of six plays for the upcoming 2020 season. The plays include an early career work from playwright David Mamet, a 1964 musical by the legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, a multi-award winning classic about the unlikely friendship between an elderly lady and her driver, the story of an unconventional advice columnist, and a farcical take on the making of Gone With The Wind.

TimeLine Theatre Company has announced its 24th season. The company's entire 2020-21 subscription season will be presented at its longtime home in Chicago's Lakeview East neighborhood, located at 615 W.
