Vassar College has announced the lineup for the 39th Powerhouse Theater Season. The annual summer season brings together some of today's most influential theatrical voices and welcomes the next generation of theater artists as members of the renowned Powerhouse Theater Training Program.

The Cumberland Theatre will continue their main stage season with the play The Shark is Broken, which will open Friday, May 2nd and run for three weekends.

Broadway alum Alex Brightman and writer and actor Brandon Rogers recently revealed some of their dream Broadway roles. Both performers appear in Hazbin Hotel, the animated musical series that features a large ensemble of Broadway veterans. 

Shucked, the Tony Award, winning musical comedy, is set to open at Shea’s Buffalo Theatre on Tuesday, March 25 for eight performances. It will close at the Buffalo Theatre on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

During the pandemic, musical theatre lovers were hit with withdrawal. Apple TV took us out of our funk when Schmigadoon hit the air in July of 2021. The series took an original story line and based it around a specific genre of musical theatre. The result had us laughing and singing along for two seasons. The first season was more of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic variety of musical while season two had more of a Chicago/Pippin vibe. For whatever reason, the third season was written but Apple TV elected not to go into production with it.

The reviews are rolling in for the world premiere of Schmigadoon! at the Kennedy Center.  Schmigadoon! is based on the Emmy Award–winning Apple Original series from Broadway Video, executive produced by Saturday Night Live creator, executive producer, and 2021 Kennedy Center Honoree Lorne Michaels.
