The Dare Tactic is now raising funds to put financial support directly in the pockets of emerging artists. Now more than ever, emerging artists need financial support in order to continue the creation of exceptional work.

The Dare Tactic presents Models of Perfection written and directed by Katie Pedro. Performances will take place September 20 at 7:30pm and September 21st at 2pm and 7:30pm, at WOW Cafe Theatre, tickets available at thedaretactic.org

The 5th ANNUAL NEW YORK INDIE THEATRE ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to for its fifth year, in partnership with New Ohio Theatre. The 5th Annual NY Indie 1MPF runs three performances only; Sunday, June 2nd, Monday, June 3rd, and Tuesday, June 4th at 8pm. All performances are at New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street). Planet Connections' signature event, PLAYWRIGHTS FOR A CAUSE at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, played to a sold-out crowd that joyously handed the team of writers and other artists a standing ovation. This year, the event, designed to address hot-button topics concerning the world at that moment through new works by prominent authors - written just for the event - dealt with the distinctions between gender and sexuality.

This year, Planet Connections' signature event, designed to address a powerful social and topical issue facing our society today through engaging stage works, will explore the distinctions between gender and sexuality. The event will benefit THE ALI FORNEY CENTER, whose mission is to protect LGBTQ youths from the dangers of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently.

The final event in The Dare Tactics 4th Season, 'A Roller Rink Temptation' by Catherine Weingarten, rolls into WOW Cafe Theatre this weekend.

The final event in The Dare Tactics 4th Season, A Roller Rink Temptation, By Catherine Weingarten, will roll into WOW Cafe Theatre May 25-27, 2018. Helmed by Daniella Caggiano, Roller Rink is a coming of age dark comedy romp about six teen chicks at a lesbian roller rink struggling for love in a new and sexiii world. Rootabega (Maggie Metnick*) is super jewy and confused about her sexuality, but luckily one of the rink's employee's, Lemonade (Dani Martineck) is ready to show her around. Poppy (Leah Lane) is finally 16 and her and her BFF Clementine ( Hui-Shan Yong) are super excited to celebrate; too bad a fat, scary, girly repressed secret threatens their friendship. Salmonella (Claire Rose Autran) says she's 'straight' but a chance encounter with an awkward butch artist named Bluebell (Azalea Lewis) complicates everything.

Jarrett, Wonder Boi tells the story of Jackson, who is navigating his identity as both a transgender man and as a superhero. When Jackson and his sister, Peyton, take a mysterious drug, Jackson gains the powers of super strength, flight, and self-healing.

The second workshop in The Dare Tactics 4th Season, Good Fit, by Nkenna Akunna, is a dark, absurdist play that comments on the limits and liberties assigned to particular identities in public space, asking who is allowed to fit into the fabric of society and who has the power to decide.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents their popular Writer-Producer Speed Date on Sunday, March 4, 2018. In deference to Oscar night, the event will start one hour earlier than usual: from 4:30pm - 8:00pm at NOLA Rehearsal Studio, 244 W 54th St., 11th floor. Opening The Dare Tactics 4th Season, Forget Me Not, music by Joey Contreras, book and lyrics by Kate Thomas, tells the story of a remote coastal town where a whale washes ashore and brings a burst of attention back to the struggling community.
