Trey Gilpin Biography
Trey is a Cleveland-based actor/singer and has been active in the northeast Ohio area since 2008. He is an active Phase II Equity Membership Candidate for Actors’ Equity Association, and his work has been recognized by BroadwayWorld and the Cleveland Critics Circle, who named him Best Actor in 2021.A Kentucky native, Trey earned his B.A. in Theatre and Communication from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Upon graduating early, he moved to New York City where he worked with the Roundabout Theatre Company. With spaces on- and off-Broadway, Trey is listed in the playbills for "Touch of the Poet" with Gabriel Byrne; "Mr. Marmalade" with Michael C. Hall; "Entertaining Mr. Sloane" with Alec Baldwin; "The ThreePenny Opera" with Jim Dale, Cyndi Lauper, and Alan Cumming; and the Tony-Award-winning revival of "The Pajama Game," starring Harry Connick Jr. and Kelli O’Hara.
Since settling in Cleveland, Trey has appeared at many northeast Ohio theaters including Cain Park, Beck Center for the Arts, Cleveland Public Theatre, Lakeland Civic Theatre, Ohio Shakespeare Festival, Blank Canvas Theatre, DOBAMA Theatre, and more. Favorite shows include "The Importance of Being Earnest" (Algernon), "Merrily We Roll Along" (Charley), "Matilda" (Trunchbull), "The Last 5 Years" (Jamie), "The Drowsy Chaperone" (Aldolpho), and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" (Freddy).
