The New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF), presented by Russian Standard, announced that its tenth consecutive edition will take place from February 25th to March 1st, 2019 in New York City at The Dolby Screening Room. A VIP Opening Reception and Closing Award Ceremony will bookend the week of events and screenings.

Thousands To Protest At Metropolitan Opera Gala Opening To Stand Against Anti-Semitism

A coalition of organizations will protest at Lincoln Center on Monday evening, Sept. 22, at 4:30 PM, across the street from the Lincoln Center Plaza at Broadway & 65th Street to protest the Metropolitan Opera House's decision to air the “The Death of Klinghoffer.” Thousands are expected to gather on Mondayevening, which marks the first night of the gala opening of the Metropolitan opera season. Dignitaries and elected officials are expected to join the thousands of demonstrators who will gather to raise their voices against this opera which promotes terrorism, and anti-Semitism.

The world premiere of Walter Anderson's play Almost Home, directed by Michael Parva and produced by The Directors Company, opened last tonight, September 18, at the Acorn theatre on Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). On Tuesday, April 3rd, Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) celebrated opening night of The Morini Strad, a new play by Willy Holtzman (Sabina). Directed by Casey Childs, the cast features Michael Laurence (Krapp39, Broadway's Talk Radio, Opus at Primary Stages), Tony nominee Mary Beth Peil ('The Good Wife,' 'Dawson's Creek,' The King and I), and celebrated violin soloist Hanah Stuart (Chicago Symphony Hall, Zankel Hall). The production features a set design by Neil Patel, costume design by David C. Woolard, lighting design by Mary Louise Geiger, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones, and projection design by Jan Hartley.The limited engagement plays through April 28 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.
