Review: SISTER ACT - National Tour, Germany
by André Böke - May 10, 2026
“Sister Act” owes its status as a global phenomenon to the iconic Whoopi Goldberg film, but Alan Menken’s stage version of the beloved Hollywood comedy has long since conquered stages all over the world. In its acclaimed West End incarnation, the musical has already been touring German-speaking venues for a third year, presented by production company Showslot, continuing to fill auditoriums all over the country. Both the linguistic adaptation and the technical realization for touring operations across Germany are flawless. The show is nothing short of a gospel of good fun – hallelujah!
Review: Charlie Puth’s WHATEVER’S CLEVER! TOUR Lets the Music Take the Lead in Vancouver
by Alyson Eng - May 10, 2026
One thing about a Charlie Puth concert is that the music is almost guaranteed to sound great. The real question is whether the live performance can live up to the level of precision people have come to expect from him. At Vancouver’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on May 5, Puth answered that question quickly. From the opening moments of the sold-out night, the WHATEVER’S CLEVER! WORLD TOUR felt built around the strengths that have defined his career for over a decade: polished production, strong live vocals, and an understanding of music that goes deeper than catchy hooks alone.
Review: SABRINA FAIR at Oyster Mill Playhouse
by Andrea Stephenson - May 10, 2026
If you enjoy a period piece with fast-paced dialogue and larger than life characters, Sabrina Fair is the show for you. The team at Oyster Mill has created a delightful and charming production of this classic play.
Review: PLAY ON! at Twin Lakes Playhouse in Mountain Home
by Theresa Bertram - May 8, 2026
Twin Lakes Playhouse in Mountain Home delivered a laugh-out-loud hit with Play On! by Rick Abbot, and honestly, the longer the show went on, the harder the audience laughed. Running April 17 through May 3, this delightful backstage comedy proved that chaos can be absolutely magical when it is placed in the hands of a committed cast and creative team willing to fully embrace the madness.
Review: TRAVIATA May Not Be in Opera’s ABCs But Jaho Gives Lesson in Making It Her Own
by Richard Sasanow - May 8, 2026
Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho wasn’t the first Violetta of this season’s LA TRAVIATA by Verdi at the Met. That means less rehearsal time and preparation in general—but you could have fooled me and the rest of the audience at Wednesday’s performance. She was in tiptop shape, after a bit of warming up, as if she’d been working in this production every day of her life. She doesn’t make to New York very often, but it’s certainly a welcome visit.
Review: MJ THE MUSICAL Peels Back the Myth at San Diego Civic Theatre
by Lucía Serrano - May 8, 2026
I was 14 when Michael Jackson passed away, and I mourned him like I’ve never mourned a public figure since then. I was never really a fangirl of anyone, but Michael Jackson existed in a league of his own. That is exactly what the Tony Award-winning MJ The Musical, with a book by Lynn Nottage, captures with precision, spectacle, and surprising tenderness.

Review: LES BALLETS TROCKADERO DE MONTE CARLO, Sadler’s Wells
by Matthew Paluch - May 6, 2026
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, otherwise known as the Trocks, are back at Sadler’s Wells as part of their National tour of a mixed bill until 6 May. Post-show I think I might be losing my sense of humour…but thankfully most of the Sadler’s Wells audience seemed happy!

by Audrey Cahak - Apr 30, 2026
The Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company produced two programs for back-to-back weekends of An Asian American Dance Journey at Woolly Mammoth Theatre, April 24th through May 3rd. “Program A” consisted of longstanding repertoire classics and included the premiere of an inspired and inspirational piece, “Drawing in Space,” that will assuredly join the same ranks.
