Most dog owners have heartfelt and hilarious stories to tell about their beloved pets, but very few have pups responsible for not one, but two musical productions! Lucky for Emmy-winning director, writer, producer and puppet artist Stacey Weingarten, her real-life rescue dog Rue continues to inspire.

Surprises have become unsurprising! Our tumultuous times disorient us and division has jaded us. But Jewish values have a special power to anchor, guide and uplift, as a new theatre production demonstrates in What a Surprise! This show will be performed in person in California and live on Zoom May 7-June 11. It is a creation of The Braid, the go-to Jewish story company.

RUNAWAY RUE - an industry-only staged reading of Runaway Rue is to be presented featuring members of the Off-Broadway cast of Rescue Rue, currently running at the DR2 Off-Broadway.

The producers for Rescue Rue at DR2 Theatre have announced the show will return after a holiday hiatus. Originally scheduled to conclude performances on January 16, 2022, the show will now pause performances until the New Year, and the run will be extended to Sunday, January 30, 2022 with performances on a new varying schedule.

Productions encourage playwrights to mine this precious resource by offering an annual NYC - themed festival each June.  Celebrating its 7th year, "Only in New York" opens Thursday, June 8 and runs for three weeks.  Each week four/five original short plays or musicals, by a variety of playwrights (including one high school student) will be presented with a "Best of the Week" production will being selected by audience vote.
