Shakespeare In The Parking Lot Turns 25, Presents ROMEO & JULIET

Shakespeare in the Parking Lot will present 'Romeo and Juliet,' directed by Lukas Raphael, July 11 to 27 at La Plaza @ The Clemente Parking Lot, 114 Norfolk Street. This popular New York summer institution is now in its 25th year. Its concept--presenting Shakespeare plays with a 'poor theater' aesthetic in a working parking lot--is now widely imitated around the US and around the world, with productions as far away as New Zealand. The Drilling Company, led by Artistic Director Hamilton Clancy, has produced the attraction since 2005.

NYC-based theatre collective Three Hares is presenting a new song cycle with music and lyrics by Paulo K Tirol titled, 'On This Side of the World,' running May 2 - May 12 at Access Theater in Tribeca, New York. The team is a recipient of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's 2019 Creative Engagement grant, which is awarded to artists with 'diverse artistic experiences' whose work 'contributes to the vibrancy and sustainability of our communities' - and that can certainly be expected this Spring. CITY OF HOPE Premieres Off-Broadway Tomorrow

FunikiJam World Music will produce the Off-Broadway premiere of the new family musical, 'City Of Hope,' Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Actor's Temple Theatre. 'City Of Hope' will play Sundays through February 17th.

The Exponential Festival, a month-long January festival for NYC-based emerging, experimental performing artists, is proud to announce the lineup of artists and venues for its fourth year of programming. Performances will take place January 4 - February 3 in partnership with The Brick, Chez Bushwick, The Glove, JACK, Target Margin Theater's The Doxsee, Triskelion's Douglas Elliman Studio Theater and Vital Joint. Panels will take place at The Bushwick Starr. The participants in this multi-artist, multi-venue festival are committed to ecstatic creativity in the face of commercialism. Exponential is driven by inclusiveness and a diversity of artists, forms, and ideas coupled with utopian resource-sharing, mentoring, and the championing of risky, rigorous work in eclectic fields to keep theatre kicking.
