George Street Playhouse  and The League of Live Stream Theater have announced that The Club, written by Chris Bohjalian (The Flight Attendant, The Lioness) and directed by David Saint, will be available for streaming.

'The Club,' a world premiere play, is currently being performed at George Street Playhouse (GSP) located at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC).

When the popularity of Facebook expanded to include adults, Dana, an empty nester in her 50s, started posting what she hoped friends and family would perceive as the perfection of her life and marriage to her husband, Mike. Unfortunately, Dana’s worst fears are realized when the truth about her failing marriage and personal life is exposed on the social media site. Both Dana and Mike are forced to re-evaluate their lives in hopes of saving themselves and their marriage. ​ A world premiere play by Dublin, Ohio, playwright Lauren Wilkens, Directed by Matt Hermiz, Cast: Dana - Kim Garrison Hopcraft, Mike - Mark Schuliger, Beth - Alyssa Ryan, George - Benjamin Gullett. Pearl Cleage’s Blues for an Alabama Sky, directed by Candis C. Jones (The Public Theater: shadow/land; Studio Theater: Clyde’s) is currently running at Barrington Stage Company. The production plays through August 5, 2023 on BSC’s Boyd-Quinson Stage (30 Union Street). Check out photos from the production here!

While I won’t go so far as to say this is a must-see, it is most certainly one that should be seen. BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY represents yet another first-rate production for the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield and those involved in bringing it forward for Berkshire arts enthusiasts to enjoy.

The full cast and creative team has been set for Pearl Cleage’s Blues for an Alabama Sky at Barrington Stage Company, directed by Candis C. Jones.

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is bringing an acclaimed play to the stage in West Chester this February. The Mountaintop was written by then 28-year old, Black female playwright, Katori Hall, and opened in a small pub in south London. A producer saw the show and supported it in a production in the West End where it went on to take the UK theatre award season by storm winning the Laurence Olivier Award for “Best New Play.”
