Highlights of the upcoming season include Osvaldo Golijov's genre-defying Falling Out of Time, performed by members of the Silk Road Ensemble; the world premiere of Houston native jazz drummer and composer Kendrick Scott's Unearthed, inspired by the Sugar Land 95; and the Texas debut of Paris's Ensemble Intercontemporain, founded by composer Pierre Boulez and conducted by Matthias Pintscher.

Join Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra as they transport you to the United States in a vibrant and energetic concert featuring some of the finest music from composers Gershwin and Bernstein. Fabulous tunes and toe-tapping rhythms are the order of the day as the orchestra, joined by pianist Andrew Zolinsky, perform Gershwin's skilfully jazz-infused piano concerto. The glittering world of stage and screen is the inspiration for the rest of the concert with music from Gershwin's Girl Crazy and Bernstein's Candide and On the Waterfront, completing this effervescent evening of 20th Century Americana.

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center invites the public to share in this special first-look at this year's CineFestival's The Future is Now: Youth Videos from San Antonio on Friday, May the 4th at 7:00pm in the historic Guadalupe Theater. The event features 12 new film shorts by area high school students. Awards will be presented and followed by a feature film presentation.

Here we are again, back for the second episode of BOARDWALK EMPIRE's final season. The episode, entitled “The Good Listener”, hit the ground running this week as we caught back up with that major ensemble of brilliant characters we've been missing. The episode opened with a montage of Eddie Cantor singing, fish frying and other oddities, as abstract openings appear to be a theme this season. We pull out into the episode through the ear canal of Eli Thompson, who we find worse for wear, waking up from what appears to be a drunken stupor.
