Feature: BRITISH INVASION 2024 at Central Standard Theatre

Since 2010 Central Standard Theatre has been producing thought inducing, innovative theatre.  Based in Kansas City, CST offers an international angle to the local theatre scene.  With productions touring Britain, Ireland, Canada and Australia, CST offers the world a unique view of who we are in the Heartland by showcasing our culture at theatre festivals around the world. CST also brings the world to Kansas City.  Annually, The Invasion features the best solo work from International theatre artists.


HBO announced that the critically acclaimed comedy series SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE has been renewed for a third season. From Mighty Mint, Duplass Brothers Productions, and creators and executive producers Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen, the series follows Sam (played by Everett), a true Kansan.


Cast includes Bridget Everett (Sam), Jeff Hiller (Joel), Mary Catherine Garrison (Tricia), Jane Brody (Mary Jo), Murray Hill (Fred Rococo), Mercedes White (Tiffani), Kailey Albus (Shannon), and Meighan Gerachis (Irma). New cast includes Tim Bagley (Brad), Jennifer Mudge (Susan), and Barbara Robertson (Darlene). Watch the video trailer now!

HBO Renews Comedy Series SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE For A Second Season

Season one stars Bridget Everett alongside Jeff Hiller (“Nightcap”), Mary Catherine Garrison (HBO’s “Veep”), Danny McCarthy (“The Ballad of Buster Scroggs”), and Mike Hagerty (HBO's “Lucky Louie”). Recurring cast includes Murray Hill (“Welcome to Flatch”), Jon Hudson Odom (HBO’s “Lovecraft Country”), and Heidi Johanningmeier (“100 Days to Live”).


The series follows Sam (Bridget Everett), a true Kansan on the surface, but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. Grappling with loss and acceptance, singing is Sam's saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don't fit in but don't give up. UCI Drama Examines Motherhood, Inequality and Humanity in Lisa Loomer's LIVING OUT

UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) will present Lisa Loomer's Living Out, a comic drama focused on immigration and working mothers. The show is directed by Jane Page, head of the directing program at UCI, and will be presented in the intimate Robert Cohen Theatre. The play opens on Saturday, March 7, with matinee and evening performances through Sunday, March 15, 2020.
