CCAE Theatricals, the new in-house theatrical arm of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, has announced its 2022/23 season, featuring 3 Main Stage musicals, 2 Concert Productions and a developmental reading.

Otherworld Theatre, Chicago's premier Science Fiction and Fantasy theatre presents Of Dice And Men - A Play about Dungeons and Dragons! This virtual production is a remount of Otherworld's first full length production from the spring of 2014, and it has been specifically designed for Otherworld's digital platform. Of Dice And Men will premiere on Otherworld's YouTube page on July 31st and will be available for FREE until August 14th, at which point it will move to Otherworld's Pateron page.

Otherworld Theatre, Chicago's premier Science Fiction and Fantasy theatre,  announced casting for Taste of Man-Flesh: A Fellowship of the Ring Parody, adapted by Mary-Kate Arnold, Michael Jay Bullaro and Kai Young and directed by Michael Jay Bullaro, running August 15, 2019 - August 24, 2019.

Otherworld Theatre Company announced Jacob Bates, Michael Bullaro, Bryce Fields, Lauren N. Fields, Stephanie Mattos, and Nathan Randall Miller will join the company as new artistic associates. New Georges will present World Premiere productions by Kate Benson (2014 Clubbed Thumb Biennial Commission winner), Krista Knight (Salamander Leviathan at Joe's Pub; Clementine and the Cyber Ducks at Incubator Arts Project), and Caroline V. McGraw (2013 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow) as part of The New Georges Jam On Toast, a brand-new festival featuring work by The New Georges Jam, a 'performance gym' for early-career female playwrights and directors founded in 2010 by Lucy Alibar, Jess Chayes, and Portia Krieger.

The Gregg Allman biopic MIDNIGHT RIDER was forced to suspend production until June following the death of second camera assistant Sarah Jones in a train accident on-set on February 20. The project was scheduled to begin filming on February 28, 2014, and now the man at the center of the film, rocker Gregg Allman, is suing producers at Unclaimed Freight, saying the Formal Option Agreement with director Randall Miller's company expired when principal production did not begin on time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, William Hurt will portray Gregg Allman in the upcoming biopic MIDNIGHT RIDER from Unclaimed Freight Productions' Randall Miller and Jody Savin.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that All-American Rejects' frontman Tyson Ritter has been cast in the role of Gregg Allman for Randall Miller and Jody Savin's film adaptation of Gregg's memoir MY CROSS TO BEAR. The pic's working title is MIDNIGHT RIDER. Ritter joins Wyatt Russell, who is set to portray Gregg's brother Duane Allman.

A new musical based on the 2008 movie Bottle Shock is now in development as part of the Ars Nova Uncharted program by writers James D. Sasser and Charles Vincent Burwell. Director Kent Nicholson helms the process.
