LAB Theater Project will present Creating Monsters, a new play by Tampa playwright Owen Roberson. Set in 1816, the play explores the turmoil surrounding Mary Shelley that influenced her creation of the monster in her masterpiece, Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, a story that has been electrifying the public through multiple media for over 200 years.

LAB Theater Project will present its first musical It Started with a Kiss, a new play by Tampa's own Mike Deeson and James Rayfield. This timeless work explores the deepening of young love and the forces that conspire against it, through the clarity and expressiveness of country music.
BWW Review: FAMILY VALUES AND THE SUGAR RIDGE RAG at LAB Theater Project
The Sugar Ridge Rag, a play by Philip Middleton Williams, premiered at LAB Theater Project in Tampa’s Historic Ybor City on April 28, 2022. The story is a complex, yet simplistic study of the life of an average family in rural Ohio, and what lies at the depths of family values and the definition of true love.
From the synopsis found on the Playbill; Pete and Dave Granger, age 17, are twin brothers in rural northwest Ohio in 1970. Dave enlists in the Army; Pete goes to Canada to pursue his career in music. Over the next five years, their lives are changed by the Vietnam War and the choices they made. Deb and Hal, their parents, are left to deal with the consequences of their actions and their future as a family.

Written by David Zarko, Directed by Kara Gold-Harris, SOUP features local actors Mary Kay Cyrus, Suzy Duic, Pamela Wilson-Caruthers, Robert Dox, and John D. Hooper. The set design is by Owen Robertson, with set dressing, scenic artistry, and props by Beth Tepe-Robertson. Lighting design is by Kristy Pike, Sound Design by Jonah Robertson, and Costume Design by Lara Jackson. The livestream is by Kara Gold, LLC.
