Marisa Jean Giachetti (She/Her/Hers)
Marisa Jean Giachetti is a disabled performing artist, singer, actor, dancer, model, wheelchair user, writer/published poet and disability advocate from New Jersey. With experience in projects across NYC, LA, NJ, Washington D.C., and virtually, Marisa is passionate about making theatre and the performing arts more inclusive and accessible.
Marisa recently made her Off-Broadway debut in Drew and Lea Lachey's new musical, label•less, at Theatre Row (March 2025) in NYC. Her other theatrical credits include the workshop and staged reading of Through the Sunken Lands (Artemis), a new musical by Tim J. Lord, with music by Avi Amon, and directed by Cara Phipps at The Kennedy Center; Rolling with the Punches (Chris/Jo Lee U/S), a new play by Joel S. Bailey, directed by Ben Rauch in NYC; Fiddler on the Roof (Mirala/Ensemble), directed by Gina Lupi at Algonquin Arts Theatre, Fall Risk the Musical, Relapse: A New Musical (Formerly *Relapse the Musical) (Kendra at NJ Fringe Festival), and a featured performer in the Feisty Disabled Artists Cabaret at Joe’s Pub, among other meaningful works.
Marisa modeled for Lady Fines Adaptive Fashion and was most recently seen on the runway in New York Fashion Week (2024). She is also a wheelchair dancer in the NJ/NYC area. Additionally, as a writer/poet and throughout her artistry as a performer, she explores the intersection of disability/chronic illness, neurodivergence, mental health, body image, eating disorder recovery, and body grief and loss.
Marisa is dedicated to reshaping narratives surrounding disability in the arts and is committed to creating accessible, interabled spaces where artists can thrive together.
