WE WILL ROCK YOU se ha estrenado en el Dominion Theatre del West End de Londres el 14 de mayo de 2002, y poco después Madrid se convertía en la segunda ciudad europea en estrenar el musical. Tras ser estrenado en 19 países, y visto por más de 16 millones de espectadores regresa con un formato renovado y una novedad con respecto a entonces, y al resto de musicales de la temporada: Las canciones serán interpretadas en inglés. A pesar de que la música forma parte de la historia, la producción nacional ha decidido no hacer traducción ni adaptaciones y serán interpretadas en su forma original.
