The word ‘colorful" doesn't begin to explain the mixture of talent that gathered last night at Birdland, New York's most iconic music room. Simply Barbra, Steven Brinberg's hilarious homage to Streisand, celebrated the diva's 70th birthday in style with special guests Marilyn Maye, Corey Mach and Karl Warden.
The following Cast Party audience was dazzled with elbow-rubbing and/or performances by Graham Russell from Air Supply, sax-man Dave Koz, Livia Dabarian (the winner of the Brazilian TV show "Broadway Dreams"), Clint Holmes (currently in residence at Café Carlyle), pop/country singer Jaron Lowenstein, Manilow hit-writer Marty Panzer, trumpet superstar Chris Botti, and many more. As he has done every Monday for the past eight years, host Jim Caruso held court with the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra (Tedd Firth, Steve Doyle and Daniel Glass) until the wee hours of the morning!
