Kira Guloien

Kira Guloien is a Canadian actor and singer whose career spans film and television, Broadway, the Stratford Festival and theatre. Her screen credits include recurring roles on Prime Video’s Reacher, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Murdoch Mysteries and Coroner, as well as recurring guest appearances on Cry Wolf and Gen V.

BIO

Kira Guloien is a Canadian actor and singer whose career spans film and television, Broadway, the Stratford Festival and theatre. Her screen credits include recurring roles on Prime Video’s Reacher, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Murdoch Mysteries and Coroner, as well as recurring guest appearances on Cry Wolf and Gen V. She has also appeared in The Testament, 56 Days, The Gringo Hunters, Brilliant Minds, The Good Doctor and Jupiter’s Legacy. Her film credits include Women Talking, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and received the National Board of Review Award for Best Ensemble and the Independent Spirit Award’s Robert Altman Award.


On Broadway, Guloien was a swing in Doctor Zhivago at the Broadway Theatre, directed by Des McAnuff. At the Stratford Festival, she played Mrs. Walker in Tommy, earning the My Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

Her extensive theatre credits include Bettina in Winter Solstice, Emily Hall in The Louder We Get, Pearl White in Ghost Quartet, Vera in Dr. Silver: A Celebration of Life, Fate 2 in the pre-Broadway production of Hadestown, Carla in Nine, and Young Edie in Grey Gardens, for which she received a Dora Award nomination for Outstanding Female Performance in a Musical. Other notable credits include Sousatzka, Marathon of Hope, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, City of Angels, Damn Yankees, Elektra in Bosnia, The Intuition of Iphigenia, Ajax in Afghanistan, The Crucible, Into the Woods and The Sound of Music.

Guloien has received several theatre honors, including Toronto Theatre Critics Awards for Best Ensemble Performance in a Musical and the My Theatre Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She has also participated in numerous workshops and readings, including Robyn Hood Panto, Heisenberg: The Uncertainty Principle, Ghost Quartet, In Real Life, Sousatzka and Faust.

She holds a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University, now Toronto Metropolitan University, and has trained extensively in acting, Shakespeare, voice, singing, dance, clown and masque, and movement for actors.
