The Segal Theatre will host a book talk with theatre scholar and director Avra Sidiropoulou discussing her latest publication Staging 21st Century Tragedies. Τheatre, Politics, and Global Crisis (Routledge 2022).

Theater Three Collaborative in New York and Persona Theater Company in Athens, two companies known for their social justice work, will present the world premiere of Karen Malpede’s Troy Too.

The Martin E. George Bartenieff – actor, director, and co-founder of Theater for the New City – will be remembered at one of theatres he called home, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Bartenieff’s life and work will be celebrated at Coffeehouse Chronicles #166 on October 1, 2022 at 3pm, at the Ellen Stewart Theatre.

The Segal Book Talk series continues December 15 at noon, with a conversation with Avra Sidiropoulouo (Greece) and Frank M. “Blue Valiant,” stars two of America’s most respected, multiple-award-winning actors, Kathleen Chalfant, and George Bartenieff and introduces Millie Ortiz. Written and directed by Karen Malpede and filmed on location at Farm Arts Collective, with a score by Arthur Rosen and horse projections by photographer Ellen Lynch.

Stage legend Kathleen Chalfant is set to star in Dorothy Lyman's new play, We Have To Hurry, which will be streamed live for two performances only, Saturday, May 1 at 8pm and Sunday, May 2 at 3pm. Chalfant stars alongside Elliot Gould in this poignant play about two people learning to take a chance on life and love in their later years.

THEATER THREE COLLABORATIVE, in association with Farm Arts Collective, has announced the world premiere production of Karen Malpede’s BLUE VALIANT. Directed by Malpede and starring George Bartenieff and Kathleen Chalfant, BLUE VALIANT will play two LIVE performances only at Farm Arts Collective.
