Paramount+ has announced the series order for the all-new original series STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY. The series will follow the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.

Earlier this week, The Nederlander Organization unveiled the new Lena Horne Theatre in honor of the iconic entertainer and civil rights activist. SHOWTIME has released the first five minutes of upcoming drama series THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, following its SXSW® world premiere today. The new series stars Oscar nominees Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris, along with Jimmi Simpson, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Kate Mulgrew, Clarke Peters and Bill Nighy.

The series will feature fan favorites from season two of Star Trek: Discovery: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise.

CBS today announced that CLARICE, the highly anticipated new drama from acclaimed executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet, and starring Rebecca Breeds in the title role, will debut Thursday, Feb. 11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), following the conclusion of the first season of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime is currently developing limited series based on the life of stage and screen star Lena Horne. Horne's granddaughter, Jenny Lumet, is set to write and executive produce the project, titled Blackbird: Lena Horne and America.

CBS All Access, CBS' digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced a new original series order for THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, based on the Walter Tevis novel of the same name and the iconic film starring David Bowie. The announcement was made during CBS All Access' executive session at the biannual Television Critics Association presentation.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

CBS All Access today announced that STAR TREK: SHORT TREKS, four stand-alone short stories, will begin rolling out on Thursday, Oct. 4, in anticipation of the early 2019 return of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. Each short will run approximately 10-15 minutes and will be an opportunity for fans to dive deeper into key themes and characters that fit into STAR TREK: DISCOVERY and the expanding 'Star Trek' universe.
