The new play Hart Island recently opened at The Gym at Judson in New York City's West Village neighborhood, bringing with it an impressive set design and a memorable story. It was written by Tracy Weller, the founder of the theater company Mason Holdings, and directed by Kristjan Thor. The press release described the plays as a 'multimedia theatrical meditation on New York City's potter's field' and delivers just that and then some.

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company has announced its annual From Page to Stage Festival of Original Work. This year's theme was 'Love and Politics' and after receiving an impressive over 400 submissions in its open call for short plays this past summer, the company selected 7 ten minute plays to feature in this year's festival. The minimally staged festival will run one exclusive week during today, November 4th-9th and feature a company of twelve actors. The End Result is an exciting and entertaining week filled with diverse selections sure to entertain and bring these new writers into the spotlight!
