Five new Artistic Associates will join Synergy Theatre Project from February 2024.

This season three incredible directors make their Royal Exchange Theatre debuts in a season of brand-new productions of outstanding contemporary plays and enduring classics.

Actor, producer and director Martin Jarvis OBE (Just William, The Forsyte Saga, Eastenders, Doctor Who) has won the BBC Audio Drama award for Lifetime Achievement, presented at Broadcasting House’s Radio Theatre.

Sleepova is a lovingly told story of female friendship, and one that’s specifically - and proudly - Black and queer. Writer Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini introduces us to four best friends: Rey, Elle, Shan and Funmi.

Sleepova, an ode to black women and their boundless spirits and wild dreams is a new Bush commission from Matilda Feyiṣayọ Ibini (Little Miss Burden) opening on 24 February 2023 (press night 1 March).  Sleepova marks the stage debut of three actresses including Bukky Bakray (Rocks), who at 19, became the youngest BAFTA Rising Star Award recipient as well as one of the youngest 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' nominees.

The finalists in the 2023 BBC Audio Drama Awards have today been announced, with a wealth of talent such as Toby Jones, Danielle Vitalis and Ken Cheng all in the running for the top spots.

The new work, to be performed outdoors at Portchester Castle in Hampshire this summer, is a response to a colonial and racist production performed at the castle by French captives in the early 19th century.  With a fresh perspective on the history of Portchester's Black prisoners of war and the Caribbean uprisings, The Ancestors re-examines the past and offers a new voice to the people involved. 

Radio 4, Talawa Theatre Company - the UK's leading Black British theatre company, and producers feral inc, will come together to showcase original audio dramas by three promising young writers.

Young Vic Taking Part has announced the conclusion of TWENTY TWENTY – their year-long in-depth creative enrichment project within their local community – with the online premiere of three short films starring the members of their TWENTY TWENTY community company.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) and Audible have announced the release of GNR8T: Series 2, a collection of four original audio dramas.

Opening The Bunker's Autumn Season the curated festival This is Black will premiere theatre productions by four new and exciting Black writers across an alternating double-bill. Exploring identity, family relationships and universal struggles, the festival will showcase All the Shit I Can't Say to My Dad by Abraham Adeyemi and Blue Beneath My Skin by Macadie Amoroso with PYNEAPPLE by Chantelle Alle and Melissa Saint and Teleportation by Ronk? Adekolu?jo.

Talawa Theatre Company has revealed the line up for Talawa Firsts 2019: the annual festival dedicated to new Black British theatre writers and makers. By offering a platform to present new work and participate in developmental workshops, Talawa Firsts champions the depth and breadth of new theatre making and writing, representing the diversity of Black voices in theatre and the performing arts. The festival will run from 19 June - 5 July 2019 at Shoreditch Town Hall.

Nicole Lecky brings her sell-out London show to Brighton Festival. Due to an unforeseen injury, this performance was adapted after Lecky suffered a twisted ankle. Directed by Jade Lewis and in collaboration between the Talawa Theatre Company and the Royal Court Theatre, Superhoe is a one-handed piece, written and performed by Lecky.

Superhoe marks Nicole Lecky's debut at the Royal Court Theatre in the venue's first collaboration with Talawa Theatre Company. Written and performed by the actress, the monologue sees 24-year-old Sasha taking one wrong turn after the next.

Extinguished Things is a new play from award-winning playwright Molly Taylor, who returns to Adelaide after her hit season of Love Letters to the Public Transport System (WINNER Adelaide Critics' Circle Award Week 2) at the 2018 Adelaide Fringe.

The National Theatre has announced its upcoming lineup for the first half of 2019.
