J.E. Robinson is an American playwright, known for his one-act “history plays,” such as Spades (2015). His plays feature vivid characterizations of historical figures and events. He was graduated from Howard University and from the University of Missouri. He taught history for many years at the Saint Louis College of Pharmacy. He also wrote essays, fiction, poetry, and Skip Macalester (2006), a young adult novel. He was born JOHN ERIC ROBINSON in Alton, Illinois.
