Westbeth Presents PAROXYSM: New Exhibition Exploring The Physical, Mental And Social Symptoms Of Our World


Westbeth has announced a new exhibition in the Westbeth Gallery, Paroxysm, which opens February 8. The show focuses on the exploration of chronic social diseases and the role of mental health in our world. Curated by Alison Pirie, 65 artists have come together to dissect the difficult topics of racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, and ableism through sculpture, painting, photography and performance. 

The Kitchen to Establish Temporary Home at Westbeth During Renovation of its Own Building


As The Kitchen continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary, it begins the renovation of its Chelsea home on 19th Street and will move temporarily to Westbeth’s expansive West Side Loft.

Point Foundation (Point), the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students of merit, last night honored the recipients of its Courage, Inspiration and Legend Awards. 30 Rock star and Tony Award winner (Nine) Jane Krakowski, received the Point Courage Award; Citi received the Point Inspiration Award; author, political strategist and civil rights activist David Mixner received the Point Legend Award. The awards were presented at Point's annual New York benefit, Point Honors, which was held on April 19, 2010 at 583 Park Avenue in New York City.
