Ars Nova will celebrate its 20th Anniversary and honor its founders Jenny & Jon Steingart at Nova Ball, Ars Nova’s annual benefit-turned-party of the season.

Ross Valley Players continues its 90th Season with The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams' classic play set in the 1930s about a family's financial and emotional struggles amid conflicting aspirations. The play will run from March 6 to April 5, 2020 at the Ross Valley Players: Barn Theatre.

Theatre Bay Area, one of the largest regional performing arts service organizations in North America, has announced the finalists of the 2019 TBA Awards. The sixth-annual TBA Awards Celebration will take place on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco).

Bay Area Musicals has announced the full cast and creative team for the final production of the Company's 2018-2019 season, the international smash hit HAIRSPRAY (Winner of 8 Tony Awards including "Best Musical"). Based on the 1988 John Waters film, HAIRSPRAY features music by Mark Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman & Mark Shaiman and a book by Mark O'Donnell & Thomas Meehan.

Helga Davis, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum's Visiting Curator of Performing Arts, has announced a daring series of performances in music, theater, dance, and other art forms this spring, using the Museum's collection as a catalyst to spark contemporary discussions through multidisciplinary expressions.

Helga Davis, an accomplished New York City-based performer whose interdisciplinary work includes theater, opera, and fine art, will become the next Visiting Curator for Performing Arts at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum on July 1. Davis will be creating new and exciting programming that furthers the Museum's role as a vibrant arts and cultural center in Boston. Davis succeeds George Steel who is now the Museum's Abrams Curator of Music.

Each year when Veterans Day approaches, I think again of my father, who landed at Utah Beach two months after D-Day with the 243rd Field Artillery Battalion and died in 1971, taking his memories with him. He wasn't much of a reader, but there is one book that connects me to that hardworking kid from a small Vermont town who shipped out for England when he was 23. 

The Stargate Theatre Company, a project of Manhattan Theatre Club's Education Department will perform an original piece, Deeper Than Skin, this Saturday, August 22nd at 3:00PM and 7:00PM at MTC- Stage II at New York City Center (131 W. 55th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues). This lively, youthful cast owns every moment of this explosive and exhilarating AMERICAN IDIOT, and I can't imagine any other cast performing this rollicking, raucous piece as well as they do. Every human on the stage gives this show everything they can, and the end result is something I'll cherish for years to come.
